The City of Kelso includes a City Council as well as Boards and Commissioners.
City Council
The Kelso City Council has the authority to set the City's policies. The Mayor, elected from among the Council Members, serves a two-year term and is recognized as head of the City, although he/she does not have any administrative duties.
Boards and Commissions
The Planning Commission conducts public hearings and takes action on the following; review and approval of the city's Comprehensive Land Use Plan, review of proposed annexations, zoning and rezoning requests.
