Governor Inslee has issued Proclamation 20-23.11 pertaining to Utility Ratepayer Assistance and Preservation of Essential Services.  The City of Kelso is committed to keeping our customers connected to essential services during the COVID-19 pandemic emergency.  If you are experiencing hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, you may be eligible for support, including long-term payment arrangements or bill assistance.  This Proclamation does not relieve customers from the obligation to pay for utility services.

We hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy at this difficult time. We want to assure you we are working hard to provide safe and reliable drinking water to your homes and businesses. During this time our staff is still conducting essential work, including collecting routine monitoring samples, monitoring the treatment, inspecting our facilities, reading meters, conducting important routine maintenance, and emergency repairs. We are asking you to please give our staff the space they need to conduct their work, by keeping at least 6 feet of distance. Please continue to allow our staff access to the water system by not blocking driveways or easements. Our operators need clear access to water system components such as valves, meters, and the pump house. Our staff is vital to keeping the water system operational. Thank you for your continued cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Randy Johnson at (360) 423-5730 or email him at rjohnson@kelso.gov.

Shopping guidelines at Walmart Grocery Stores

Walmart remains focused on supporting our communities, associates and customers. As a part of that commitment, we have developed some shopping guidelines that we are encouraging residents to use when shopping for essential items they need for their families.

We will be promoting across all of our communication platforms these shopping guidelines to help customers protect themselves, their families and fellow shoppers. We also have a social media graphic to share as an easy reminder to residents about how to best shop for the essential items they need. Social distancing is the responsibility of everyone and when we shop, we must not endanger others.

We are respectfully asking you to help promote and encourage all residents to follow these shopping guidelines:

We are all responsible for keeping space: Keep at least six-feet between you and a fellow customer or associate -- inside and outside the store.
Shop patiently: Watch and wait for other customers to be done in an aisle to keep a six-foot distance.
Limit and consolidate shopping trips: have a list ready, get what you need, and quickly exit the store.
Shop alone: avoid having others with you when possible
Stay home when you don’t feel well
Cover your mouth if you cough or sneeze
Wash and sanitize your hands before/after shopping
Shop online grocery store curbside pick-up or home delivery when possible

Thank you again for your continued support and leadership during this crisis. If there is anything we can do to support your efforts, please do not hesitate to contact me at any time.

Sincerely,

Debbie
