The City of Kelso will be having a food drive starting Monday, November 25th and will run through the week of December 16th.  We will be giving all non-perishable donations to the “Community Backpack Buddies” program.  The program is being offered to students within the Kelso School District.

We will have donation barrels at Kelso City Hall, Kelso Police Department, Kelso Public Library, and Catlin Properties Inc.  If you have any questions, please contact Erica Geiszler (360) 577-3361, Patty Murray (360) 577-3347 or Jessica Bronstein (360) 577-3379.

How it works:Every Friday morning each child who participates (with parent’s permission) will be brought a bag of food. A school staff member will assist the student in putting their food into their backpacks discreetly and privately. If the child does not have a back pack one will be provided to them for transporting this food home.

Please note:  If your child has any food allergies, the school will not be able to provide Backpack Buddies for your student.

Confidentiality:  The enrollment form will be kept confidential.  If you have any questions about the program, please contact your school counselor or school principal.
